You may laugh, but a border collie was the only babysitter I ever had. My mother would simply put me out the front door with her, and she wouldn’t let anyone near me and would herd me back into the house for meals and diaper changes.
It’s not like this was irresponsible in any way however. After all, she had excellent references. You see, I was the third boy she raised…
Mazing. Fanks, Tom, lvd yr storee!
Tom, totally believe it! How awesome. Sadly, in this day and age, people would think it was irresponsible, but sometimes I see people with kids and I think a dog could do a better job.
Amen!
And you just KNOW this goggie will guard this kiddie wif its life

That baby doesn’t even look real.
Yeah, looks a little thin. Or dressed much younger, and has young-looking hands.
Or he just looks goofy, which may be the most likely.

Sorry – it needs to be said – that’s a face only a mother could love
Baby cute. Your manners not.
Nope, sorry y2kitty, but that baby is a little odd-looking. The kid looks kinda like a bat. I’d say a quarter bat, like if Batboy had a kid with someone normal. No harm meant, though, I’m sure the kid will grow out of it.
SNERK
If anyone here, besides me, is old enough to remember Red Buttons, I’ll bet he looked just like this when he was a baby!
OMG! You’re right!! LOL!
This reminds me so much of the “Good Dog Carl” books!
A good quality dane can be very gentle and I’m sure the dog will be a lovely companion to the baby, but I’m sorry, this is so unsafe. A knock at the door, a sudden noise, someone steps on a squeaky toy, and the dog could leap off the couch. Stepping on, scratching, or knocking the baby off the couch could cause serious harm with a dog that large. Hopefully it was just a quick photo op. I am not against big dog with babies, I have 4 GSDs that adore infants, but the child’s safety must come first.
Never had a Dane move while babies where sitting or sleeping on them no matter the chaos happening inside or outside of house. And have had LOTS of babies sleep on them.
