It’s a time machine

It’s a time machine … honest ! I’ll prove it … I’ll close the door
and press the button. When you come out of there, you won’t know what
day it is.

Having accidentally closed my beloved cat in the dryer – and he died – any dryer comedy is sad, and all too easy to happen, whether cat, dog, ferret, gerbil, hampster, or whatever the pet.
I totally agree. And the thing with cats in dresser or desk drawers is bad too. Years ago our cat got in a drawer and we happened to hear her crying. She had crawled over the back and was strangling. Fortunately there was a cabinet door by the drawer and my daughter crawled in and held up the cat’s weight while my husband carefully pushed her head back over the drawer. It was a frightening 15 minutes. But she was o.k. When I was a teenager, I accidently closed a hide-a-bed on one of our litter of kittens and it died. You just never get over it and we should always know where our kitties are when we are doing something dangerous. I read that to break a cat from getting in the dryer, put it inside, close the door and bang on the top really hard and then let it out. It sounds like it might work. Not harm to try if the kitty insists on the dryer routine.
I know, it’s terrible!! One time one of my friends were puttig in drywall, and there was a big gaping hole in the wall where they would fill it in. Their cat went inside and the people didn’t know, so they filled in the wall anyway. Luckily, they got him out of there because they heard meowing through the wall, so they had to tear it down and get the cat out.
This reminds me of a funny story. We had a cat, long ago, who didn’t care for her kittens, but she fed them etc. They were in the basement. Somehow she managed to get them up into the plumbing area and close to the bathroom pipes. My daughter heard meowing and we went to check it out. Pepper went with us just as though she was surprised when we heard the kittens. But she did go up and bring them down one at a time. We couldn’t get to them. We had closed the basement door and she couldn’t get to them so they went without food for about three days, but they survived. Pepper never acted like she missed them. I think she hoped they were gone for good.
this is not funny in the least bit! It is horrible in fact!!!
