Yikes. Based on the condition of the tail, I’d say that dog isn’t playing…it needs some medical attention.
One of my dogs has a bald patch on his tail. The vet has no idea why; no fleas, mange, etc.
My dog is ten years old, it is natural for some hair to wear off.
Thank you for your concern
Ashee, your girl has the same coloring as my girl. She’s 15 and has a stockier build, double coat, and a curled tail. The humane society had her listed as a shepherd mix. My best guess is she’s an Akita mix.
I think the Humane Society lists all indistinguishable mutts as Shepherd Mixes! lol
They even had my very obviously doberman/hound mix listed as a shepherd mix… Weird!
Nenna is a Staffordshire Terrier and Husky mix, if you’re curious. Her father (the staffie) just passed away and she looks exactly like a pointier version of him lol
I thought the same thing. Flea alergies? It is also possible that something did happen and it was taken care of already…just needs the fur to grow back? It does appear happy and healthy otherwise
Or maybe the its tail is bald due the frantic tail chasing they quite clearly caught in the photo. Poor guy.
This is the first one in a while that LITERALLY made me laugh out loud. My dogs thought I was crazy.
And yes, I noticed the bald patch. I have a feeling it was either shaved or the result of having been previously kenneled since the dog appears healthy otherwise and there is no inflammation or discoloration.
Therefore, I ignored the bald patch and laughed, to enjoy the funny.
Oh, and the lack of teeth indicates old age or prior poor care…likely in a pound or puppy mill. He may be permanently bald.
Again, doesn’t look serious at all, so I’m going to go back to my amusement.
Yes, that would be old age. She’s not missing teeth, but she does have a chipped tooth that the vet thought was well enough not to pull.
I just realized it does look like she’s missing teeth in this picture… Weird! Must be how her lips are placed, because she still has all her teeth.
Mi goggie chazez her tale noa an den. She dunt hev fleaz or nuffin. I think she jest dunt no whut dat ting is back dere. She alway seemz surprized wehn she catchez it and surprized wehn she nips it wif her teef. She is yung an helthy and I tink she just goofy. She done’t do it verra offen or anyting. Everabody’s back itchez evera noa and den, don’t chers?
I’m so glad u enjoyed it Jessica! Yep, I had a dog that was obsessed with chasing his tail. It was curled and went a bit to the left, so he was always turning that direction…round and round and round. Funny as all get out. He could catch it if he really wanted to, but then it would turn into a tug of war that he couldn’t win
He had all the toys in the world, but loved his tail…kinda like a kid with the box the present came in, lol.
So cute
Nenna (my dog in the picture) will chase her tail on command
AAAHHH! MY BABY R IS FAMISS
I didn’t even notice her bald spot until people pointed it out…my min pin has a bald spot on her nub. She’s 13. They get a little rough around the edges as they age…just like us!
Yup… She’s got a bald patch on her belly, too lol
Aww, balding minpin nub sounds so cute!
Oh teh silly doggy :3
