  1. e says:

In the first half of the video, it looks like his butt is itchy and he’s trying to get his head around to bite/scratch at it. By about 20 seconds in, though, I’d decided that no, he’d just gotten into someone’s stash of drugs!

  2. LOLTapeworm says:

    Pirates r coolur dan ninjas

  3. Annie says:

Weeeee! Reminds me.. I need to go work out.

  4. Jer Bear says:

    Thats a great squirrel impersonation!

  5. barboid says:

What a cutie! Da low blood sugar prevents da lolspeak. My parents had a dog very similar to this cutie. He was part bisenji and part something else, but he was spoiled rotten just the same!

  6. BAReFOOt says:

  9. wondering says:

oh how cute. i see such dogs often on this site, could anyone tell me what breed this is? thx!

  10. tuckerlol says:

Someone needs to exercise that poor pup! ITA with Barefoot!

    • Simpson says:

That’s what I was thinking. Take that dog to the park.

      • Shiba mom says:

Nooo, that’s just what Shibas do, even when they get plenty of exercise. They occasionally get infused with the shiba spirit and run around like that. We call it the Shiba 500! :)

  11. Ray says:

Looks like a Shiba Inu, albeit a heavy one.

  12. GeekinTexas says:

Whew. I’m worn out. So is the goggy’s carpeting, I bet. Somebody needs to get him outside to run!

  13. Dani says:

Hahaha… That reminds me of my dog. She does that exact thing all the time, and she goes for an hour long walk almost every day. Smaller dogs just have a ton of pent up energy sometimes. xD

  14. ellahydew says:

Lol…our dog does that…even after loooooong walks! Plus he has black fur, so he’s an appropriate ninja dog!

  15. Greg says:

Looks like a Frantic Random Activity Period (FRAP). Happens when dogs have lots of energy and aren’t getting enough exercise. Play fetch! Take it to the dog park! Atleast go for a long walk.

    • Germaine says:

My dogs are both of this breed, get TONS of exercise (two-three walks a day which are at least 45 minutes long each, lots of playing with other dogs for 7 or more hours a day,{not every day though} playing fetch inside and out etc.) and they do this when they get super excited about something, which could be anything from dinner time, the cats, me sneaking up on them or when they are playing with us, each other, or the cats.

    • JAWs says:

We call that the ‘puppy crazies,’ and my parents’ dog tends to get it at… oh, say 2 AM. And yes, he gets long walks every day.

He’s largely grown out of it.

  16. Lachlan says:

    Extacy. Now in kibble.

  17. julia says:

what is wrong wif poor goggie?? make him better pwease?

  18. kacky says:

Will someone please get this dog to a groomer and get his anal gland taken care of! This is just cruel.

  19. doglady says:

Sign that pup up for agility classes! You would have a star!

    • JAWs says:

My folks’ Welsh Springer does agility and loves it! I call him ‘ninja dog because he is a master at leaping.

  20. Doc says:

    Authentic Ninja music.

  21. Jen says:

De goggie look lyk giant chipmunk.

  22. loki says:

That dog looks like he has distemper.

  23. Mr_WAF says:

So itz troo Firefox is fasterer thun evar !

  24. genaphur says:

haha! The dog is doing something Shiba Inu owners call the “Shiba 500″. All Shiba’s do it. They get these crazy bursts of energy and run rampant around the house/yard, where ever they are. This Shiba is a bit heavy, but seems to me that he/she is able to move around just fine. :)

  25. Michelle says:

Aww – goggie is havin’ a wingding!

  26. MiniMoppel says:

Looks like a mixture of fox and squirrel and bear.

    Weird!

  27. maxon says:

    oooo I feel dizzy now.

    Doggie is having a madz.

  28. Cian says:

My Great Pyr does the same thing, and trust me she gets plenty of exercise. Sometimes we will be sitting there just watching Tv and she spazzes on us. Runs loops around the cats, then just lays back down and looks at us like WE are the crazy ones.

  29. Mahtt says:

Our 1/2 Shih Tzu 1/2 Tea Cup poodle does this too… we take him for daily walks and play with him for at least an hour daily…and then he runs madly around the kitchen for 10 minutes… he also does it outside throughout the day… then again he loves the hell out of agility courses

  30. Michelle says:

lol. dang. hyper dog is hyper.

    or is that a fox?

  31. Joe says:

That’s a Shiba Inu alright. They all do that. Shiba owners call it the “Shiba 500″. Mine does it right after he gets in from a walk.

    • michelle says:

i have shiba and i have never seen mine do that for that long. i love that though the shiba 500. he normaly does his when gets in from his walk too. maybe that guy up there had something stuck on his paw or tail. you know how they hate to get dirty.

  32. Kitty says:

What was ninja about that? It’s a dog running back and forth, there wasn’t a lot of speed to it. My dog could run faster than that…if she were still alive at least. I was expecting some speed, false advertisement.

  33. shibamom says:

All the well meaning comments about anal glands and walks are appreciated, but this really is normal Shiba behavior. We used to call it “going coyote” when our Shiba did it. He is 13 now and still does it, just not as often (or as fast).

Remember how cute those puppies were on the Shibacam? Take heed, this is their activity level.

  34. cheezy_poof says:

That is called ‘za zoomies’ usually followed by a nap on mums tummy.

  35. Dog Trainer says:

Quit hating on the poor dog and its owners, it’s a Shiba, it’s what they do.

  36. Swanton Diva says:

Plz to be switchin to decaf? LOL
I can understand the whole “bursts of energy” thing. Heck, my cats get it sometimes!

  37. Emyrs says:

    HAH! so cute!!! shiba <3

and this is a shibaken! therefore it really is a goggie ninjar!

couple more months and i can start looking for a ninjar shiba goggie of my own!

  38. Lucy says:

This guy needs some walkies – bad!

  39. Mary Thelma says:

Ohhhh, it’s a shiba inu. That answers one question. As for the activity, well, that first part (circular addressing of spirits) is done by my goofy 12 year old greyhound, and is endlessly amusing. He can spin, but there’s no room to sprint around like that!

  40. lisafox says:

Our Shiba does that all the time…she also goes crazy going after “shiba demons” that apparently live in the couch or her bed, she will barks scratch and run around like she is chasing something…..she also chases our husky around the yard all day sooo much energy in shibas

  41. Christa says:

I can’t watch this video because of the music.

  42. miri says:

Reminds me of the bunneh doing binkies posted on ICHC a while back. Doggeh binkies!

  43. LirrenShentai says:

Everybody who’s talking about “What’s wrong with the dog?” and “Make him better” read all the comments about the “Shiba 500″. And to add to that, I’m not an owner of a small dog, but a 100 lb, 12 year old, Golden Retriever by the name of Henry…and throughout his life, he has done this. Even with plenty of exercise and walks. Inside, outside, it doesn’t matter…at some points, he’ll just go nuts and start tearing around the room just like that–albeit about three times the size of that Shiba…so our carpet didn’t quite fare as well. ^_^

  44. Pom Rania says:

Sooo cute, looks just like a little foxie! I know that’s a Shiba Inu, but they DO tend to look like foxes. My dog does that whole “running back and forth” thing too from time to time. He’s a Pom/something; don’t know what the “something” is, because we got him from a rescue, and they didn’t know either.

Is the “running back and forth” thing common with other breeds as well? Because our previous Pom never did that.

  45. Melanie says:

Our dog does this too, she is not a sheba though. Pug and jack russell mix, probably some other small breeds too but no sheba. She gets long walks daily and runs around the house playing indoor fetch. When she gets like this though, its usually accompanied by manic little growls. She’s just playful…

  46. ki10 says:

He’s definitely fast, but he’s not ninja fast if the cameraman can still track him, or even if his movements show up on film.
