AWWWWWWWWWWW! (x1million)
You gots ta save da doggies!
reminds me of when i was in Iraq and i rescued a kitty and then she had kittens and i got to see them get all big and healthy and strong.
I’ve heard alot of stories like that. of soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan picking up stray cats and dogs and taking care of them back at camp. I think its the sweetest thing ever.
and thank you for your service, I’m glad you came home safe.
thank you so much for your service overseas, and thank you doubly for your kindness to that poor kitty. my sister is overseas right now.
geez, why’s my screen getting blurry…
THAT is a win!
Teh snorglies
When soldiers rescue and care for stray animals wherever, why can’t they be allowed to bring them home? Sad.
I think it’s an issue of not letting an animal that could have random diseases or something across countries, especially developing countries. There are some countries that let animals that have papers on planes, but otherwise they have to be in quarantine for up to 6 months. It’s kind of like jail
(
Nope, there is NO quarantine for an animal brought to the mainland United States? I brought a dog back from Ecuador two years ago. All you need is a rabies shot and a health certificate.
mainly because the risk of bringing disease to the states. Which is sad but necessary.
there might be some issues with diseases, i imagine.
seems ike they could do the same quarantine as when you bring your pet to another country.
When I was deployed I fell in love with one of the camp goggies named Cat. I looked into taking her home with me. It would’ve cost me over $1000 and I couldn’t afford it
In some cases there are special considerations made… but the biggest problem is that it’s difficult to arrange bringing them back, and of course the disease and all… I know for sure of one soldier that got to send the dog he rescued back, but only because he paid for most of the cost of transportation and quarantine, and the dog had saved his life or something… doggie is waiting for him in the states, now though. =3
Absolutely awesome!!! Such gentleness. u r doin it rite
I would prefer soldiers showed kindness to humans instead of dogs.
The same humans that show us kindness by blowing themselves up alongside a Humvee???
I choose doggies
If a soldier shows kindness to an animal, it stands to reason that he would do the same for a human who deserved it.
“The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.” [1762]
~Samuel Johnson (1709-1784)
EPIC WIN!
I don’t think it’s an either/or proposition. It should be kindness to humans AND dogs.
Right on right on right on!
ad tehn it getz throun of teh cliff :’(
For those who served, welcome back!!!!
Shipping animals has never been cheap. When I was a Navy brat, it cost a mint to send our dog from Hawaii to Virginia. Dad later got out of the Navy (1969) after 22 years partly because the next assignment, in Scotland would have required a six month quarantine, plus shipping at our expense for the dog. Fortunately, many have contributed in many cases in Iraq or Afganastan to bring these animals back.
Sum1 give dat man a hug! den give teh puppeh sum snorglez!
i agree this is such a cute pic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“It’z BBQ time… hot dog anyone?
Yummi!”
Nice change from the usual “food”…
The Iraqis and Afghans actually do eat dogs…when my husband served over there and and ate food the locals working with them near the base made for them he ate dogmeat too…but they didn’t tell them what it was until afterwards :/
Hahaha anything is eatable as long as it isn’t poisonous.
Now the nutrition is another story.
God Bless you for every second of your day! Thanks from my family to yours
this reminds me of those videos that leaked to the internet of soldiers rescuing puppies and then throwing them off cliffs in iraq.
If that is what a picture like this reminds you of, then seek professional help.
You are one to seek help tbh, since this picture do remind me about that vid too.. Similar dog, similar landscape.. Sorry if reality ruins your perfect little world.
Seriously though, that’s what I thought of too, only because I was so completely damaged and horrified from seeing it in the first place.
no way!! dat never happened! did it?? please say no
Datz sew beyootifull–ize gettin tearie. Tiem to hug my goggies n thank a hero.
how extremely cute <3
i agree with “heh.” this even looks like a screenshot from the youtube video, just before he tossed it off a cliff. lol
People, let me assure you…. This is NOT the puppy thrown from a cliff. Nor is it the same soldier. The puppy killer was USMC, whereas this guy (who just so happens to be my ex-husband) is Air Force.
Is that man married? If not, send him my way. Anyone with a hear that kind is good enough for me!!
So that’s NOT the puppy that got thrown of the cliff then? Pheww…

leave it to chumps like the last few posters to bastardize a good picture and our soldiers…i would love to see you go over and rescue said dogs without their protection.
this is the cutest thing!!!
I also thank you for your service to our country!
awdwannabe, frankly I don’t understand your miffed attitude. I’m sure you’ve seen the video of the US soldier throwing a scared puppy looking very much like the puppy in the picture of a cliff, laughing as he does it I’m sure. It’s not my fault there are bastards in the USMC or what ever he was, not saying they are all like that but the pic made me think of that very clip and obviously I’m not alone.
That’s my old Squad leader!! Sgt Morris! I remember when this pic was taken and yes, he did come home safely!
Good soldiers make the world a better place, protecting not only innocent hoomans, but goggies too!
THIS PIC IS A WINNER ……. PEOPLE LIKE THIS ARE SO AWESOME!!!! MY RESPECT AND GOD BLESS
