*melts*
oh my lordy…
so cute!
What a good goggie!
So gentle! So loyal!
Probably a better babysitter than most Amsericans!
I want a goggie. I want THAT goggie.
Very cute… but am I the only one cringing a little?
um, yes.
Unless it is a stray that ha wandered in, I’m
gonna guess these people love that dog, and have treated it well.
The munchkin is too tiny to do anything that *might* get an accidental
snap- eye-poking, etc.
*oh yeah- aaawwwwwww!
Animals are not automaticly going to hurt a baby. My family was terrified when I had my first and warned me my cat would suck the breath out of my newborn. I brought my baby home, the cat jumped in the crib and curled up next to it. I never had a problem and usually unless an animal is hurt or scared it will not attack. I guess the bottom line is watch your kids and animals like responsiable parents/owners.
Yeah, a cat will NOT attack a kid unless it has unpleasant memories linked to kids. Same for dogs. I got a dog that was raised with kids, and she’s an angel around them.
When my little bro ‘pets’ my female dog by grabbing her fur and tugging it or patting it way to hard, she just looks at him, then licks him. ^.^
LOL – That kid has never been safer . .
Malamute babysitter! Their fur is so nice and thick for lil pudgy hands to grab!
I have an Alaskan Malamute… and I know if we put him up to a baby like that he’d NEVER EVER hurt it. He’d just give it kisses, it’s what they love to do
I love my puppy! He’s so kind and lovable!! I couldn’t ever imagine giving him away! He’s the biggest part of the family now!!!!
Yes it looks like a the meeting of new bestest friends-can you imagine the years of fun these two will have together.
All I see is something very bad about to happen.
good name…
Nom nom nom. Maybe “I love that new human taste”.
No way. That baby is safer than you think. That Malamute thinks this is the newest member of the pack and would rip the arms off of anyone who would try to hurt that baby!
OMG DROP EVERYTHING DOG + BABY = DANGER DANGER LET’S EVERYBODY PANIC.
oh wait. I see other commenters have already covered this territory. carry on, then.
(PANIC!!)
Heh! At that age, babies just flap around aimlessly, so she probably can’t even startle the dog accidentally, much less try to grab at it. By the time she’s old enough to get a good hold on its fur, they’ll be BFF.
That dog will protect that baby with his life. He’ll watch her grow up, put up with her pulling on his tail and ears, play with her in the yard, and Lord Have Mercy on the person that thinks they’re gonna do any harm to HIS human pup. Dobermans and German Shepherds are other dogs you can trust your babies with. Nobody gets to their kids without express permission from their master.
I was about that baby’s age when my parents took me to my grandparents to visit my dad’s German Shepherd, Sheba. Story goes she sniffed me and very gently took my hand in her mouth. That dog never hurt me or my little sisters, very patiently put up with us messing with her…and no one that didn’t belong in her yard was going to get in her yard to mess with us. The GSD puppy we have now has played with a toddler I sit for, and while he’ll jump on us adults and chew on us a little, he’s been nothing but gentle with the kid.
In conclusion, you “ZOMG, big goggeh little babeh!” folks…srsly…chill out. He’s got his ears down and his head lower than hers. That’s “I’m a good goggeh” body language.
I had a GSD who was gentle as a lamb around kids. he was aslo very restrained with my frail grandmother.
Meanwhile, he freely roughhoused with his ‘brothers’.
Ok, nobody’s freaking out, relax. Silly housewives. They’re just comments on a computer screen.
And anyway, babies are high in protein and fat.
Thank you for having a reasonable and humorous response. I love dogs. I visit this site everyday. I was just posting my honest reaction. BIG dog, little baby. Maybe some people spend all their time on this site and have never, EVER read a story about a baby being attacked by a dog. But that’s okay! Very excitable bunch, these doggeh lovers.
…. yes. that’s it. I never leave the house, is the reason why you’re ridiculous. Makes perfect sense.
Children usually are attached by dogs under certain circumstances (note, I say usually) – like the dog being simply aggressive to anyone (probably due to being trained that way), the dog being injured, the dog being a pregnant bitch, and so on and so forth. A dog that has experienced nothing but kindness, love and devotion from it’s master will not be aggressive on it’s own.
Amen.
I was practically raised by a giant Doberman.
Our lab would lose a limb before he so much as looked at our
girl funny.
An ex’s parents had GSDs, and the male, a big white called Sabre, when his sister was born, wouldn’t let her dad near her. He was really really protective of the baby.
YAY!! Kisca pup!
So kyoot!
Ya, mebbe da bebbe isn’t so bad lookn eethr!
Goggie got new frenz! Goggie HAPPIEH
Babie will hav goggie companshun for da rest of goggie’s lyfe.
I love how dogs are really gentle around babies, not just human babies but other animals too. My dog would bark at all the cats around but when we brought home a new born kitty we found on street she took care of her and practically adopted her.
i think the dogs head is about the size of the baby.
