It’s not a sexist question. The dog is merely asking a question based on previous information that turned out to be faulty. If your main concern was to play fetch, would that not be what you ask about?

Oh boo hoo sexism! Inane crap like crying sexism (or racism) at something so trivial and innocent as this that does serious harm to those who actually are victims of said prejudices. People get sick of hearing idiots crying about discrimination all the time, even when there’s clearly no such thing, and therefore are less inclined to listen even when there’s a genuine problem. Crying wolf and all that.
As for this particular case, don’t be so ridiculous. Acknowledging there are differences between genders isn’t sexism. In general, boys and girls have different play interests. It’s not sexist to say so, it’s simply stating the truth. Boys tend to be more interested in rough play than girls are. Look in any school playground if you don’t want to take my word for it. As such, it’s not unreasonable to suggest a boy may be more likely to play ball with a dog more often than a girl would. It’s not sexism, it’s realism.

While I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY with that you said, we need to consider the fact that the people who are crying sexism may have in fact been victims of genuine discrimination or harassment at some point in their lives. I *have* been a victim of genuine sexism… and it took me close to a year to stop seeing blatant mistreatment everywhere I looked. I had to get into the therapy to learn how to let it go and recognize situations for what they actually were. For some people the therapy either doesn’t work, or they don’t get any in the first place… or they subconsciously enjoy having been a victim because it allows them to intentionally or unintentionally (depending on the person) plead for sympathy wherever they go (which backfires after awhile, and people get sick of it, thus starting the ‘victim’ cycle all over again).
I’m not condoning people crying sexism on a LOL board of all places… and I thin k if these people genuinely were discriminated against they need to get the necessary help sooner rather than later… but it is a possible explanation for the behavior.

Not to be all scientific and stuff but dogs are color deficient (compared to humans anyway) and do not perceive colors in the red spectrum (including pink.) He’d probably see this as a “grey” baby. I know, I know, this is a LOL. Don’t be bringing science into it. I just find that more annoying than any sexism that might or might not be in the joke.
