I’m as much against cruelty and all other forms of mistreatment to animals as much as the next person but I come to lolcats for some humour.

vegan means you don’t eat meat, dairy, or any other foods made from animal.
fanta, vegans are great and all, but for some of us going vegetarian is so much easier. i have been vegetarian since 3rd grade and i am in my late thirties now.

No one is ever going to stop eating animals, but it isn’t fair how they’re treated in slaughter houses. I value them just as much as house pets, and they can be extremely loving as a doggy.

I think the picture is inspiring.
I just adopted a new dog – three weeks after I lost my wonderful 13 year old Anatolian shepherd (yes, a rescue) to bone cancer.
This picture actually gladdens my heart because it’s so true. And when you think about it, it’s encouraging.
I hope many people see it and are inspired to adopt a homeless animal.
I thnk it’s wonderful that there is a serious picture every once in a while on the lol sites. Hey, flexibility is a good thing!

I agree I found this picture (and caption) very inspiring. All those who think it’s depressing need to look again. The caption is something everyone should keep in mind when looking for a new pet. Adoption is the ONLY way to go!!

My doggy’s from a shelter. When we got him, he was really skinny and you could see his bones. Now he’s happy and playful and kinda pudgy!

I went to an ASPCA shelter in Richmond VA before I got the dog I have now, didn’t find anything there at the time that appealed to me. After I got her, “someone” placed an injured puppy in my backyard, probably thinking my Rottweiler would kill it. Long story short, I had to take the injured puppy to the pound (someone tried to dock its tail and basically left it an open wound), and I cried my eyes out when the shelter worker took him.
I can’t have another dog right now but you bet as soon as I’m able, I’m adopting one from a shelter. Wish people would take the time to spay and neuter their animals so domestic animals wouldn’t end up without homes.

I RECENTLY WENT TO PICK UP MY KITTEN AFTER HE WAS NEUTERED AND HEARD A STORY ABOUT A 2 YEAR OLD CAT ABUSED SO BADLY BY BEING KICKED IN THE HEAD IT IS NOW BLIND. WHAT CAN WE DO TO STOP THIS TRADGEDY? CAN WE KICK THOSE PEOPLE IN THE HEAD AND NOT GET PUNISHED BY THE LAW? WHY NOT?
