Hey, what's with all the misspelled words?

Nice way to start my morning. Total win.
Thats just awesome i loved that its so happy and nice
and cute :3
That is an American Red Cross Comfort Dog. Not just humans can volunteer for the American Red Cross!!
heroes both indeed. Don’t know why the screen’s all blurry right now.
It’s probably blurry for the same reason mine is…
Dunno what you’re talking about.
*sniffle*
do random tears short out keyboards?
mines from allergies…. yes that’s right… allergies….i’m alergic…
Dunno but mine is too.
i know why is it so blurry?
Animal heroes are extra win, because they don’t do it for the notoriety. They do it because they were trained to do the right thing, so that’s all they know.
They’re not always trained to do the right thing.
In Australia a pet Jack Russell died protecing five children from wo pitbulls. He hadnt bee trained to fight, but he gave his life for those kids.
(sniffles) Jack Russells. Their spirits are always too big for their bodies. I hope there’s an angel at the Rainbow Bridge to give that one a medal, and lots of treats and cuddles.
(gets tissues)
Actually, that was in New Zealand. New Zealand is not Australia.
It was, however, still an awesome feat on that little dogs part.
i remember that happening, I read my news online…. i think my screan
got all blurry then too…
I want a jack russel….. or labrador eith way.
i love how no one knows where new zealand is but you guys r always the one with more excitment. us ppl in aus just sit back and get the credit
I KNOW!! You bastards and your pavlova stealing ways!!! =P
Oh, I feel dumb now. I thought it was Australian. But it is good.
My dad and his brothers were protected by their mutt-terrier when they were little– thing took a death-bite from a rattler for them.
Went and laid in the creek for nearly a week and managed to recover, but…what bravery.
As an ex-service member I promise you that I never meet a soldier, sailor, marine, nor airman that joined for the fame and/or notoriety…Most, like me do it just because they feel that it is the right thing to do…..
who are they?
They are heroes!
Hmmm, I’d like to know that too. Anybody?
Looks like my comment didn’t stick…again…
Judging from the puppeh’s bandana, I’d say he’s a Red Cross Therapy Dog. These amazing little guys visit hospitals, nursing homes and anywhere else people need someone to just sit and listen, snuggle or play. It looks like this furry little hero is visiting a patient in a VA hospital who just needs someone to not judge or expect anything from him (except maybe a hug)!
Sierra Hotel LOLDogs! Nuff’ Said
Amen! Thank you to all heros of all shapes in sizes.
Excellent. Thank you so much – that’s made my afternoon.
I would love to know the story behind this winning photo. I hug my dog like that just because I love her I can’t imagine the story for this hug. It sure looks like he means it tho. Fantastic picture.
A++++++++++
wow… the lol made me… what´s the crying equivalent of lol… col
col…I will pass it along…seems like a term that will catch on
love it! i was totally unprepaired for something so insperational and sweet first thing in the morning
Tears — my eyes have ‘em.
Nobility: dey haz it.

Heroes FTW!
Not onlee is mah screen blurry but I suddunly gots a hedcold.
Mennee blessins on all our armed and pawed forses.
*Snff*
*Honk*
Okeh, bedder now.
Sometimes there is no need for words but you just gotta say “wow”
truly inspirational
AAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
You guys kill me with these tributes…keep ‘em coming!
Couldn’t agree more! Amazing WIN
Bollocks is the soldier a hero.
Soldiers are trained and paid to kill other human beings.
Sound a little less heroic now eh?
Kudos on the red cross doggydoctor though.
You know, shut up!
Not quite – soldiers are trained to die to protect you, and if they have to kill someone to achieve that goal, so be it.
gee, thanks, dirtbag.
You are an asshole. Go somewhere and die. kthanksbai
The fact that you have the right to say such stupid things is because of the men and women who are trained to PROTECT YOU and your rights. The fact that we are willing to kill or die to do it is just something we accept.
I’ve never commented on these boards before, and I realize you will probably never see this comment, because people like you generally just say rude and ignorant things then laugh and walk away. But my husband is an Airman in the USAF and he is my hero, and I am very proud of him. He is one of the most gentle loving people I know, and although yes killing is in their training it is not what they are paid for, my husband for example does ground radar maintenance. He joined the US military to protect the ones he loves, what do you do all day? Sit and insult people? Sorry to the rest of you for the rant but this was a horribly ignorant comment that I felt I had to reply to. And on a lighter note, I loves this one, it made my eyes tear up too=D
Thank you to you and your husband from a grateful American.
Thanks from Canada too
Don’t let the idiots get to you.
My husband and I were both Navy, and he’s now AF– we know, and you know, that the moron is only able to say such idiotic things because of the risks our husbands are taking right now.
funny thing a bout soldier
you may not like them
you may not wany any one in your family to be one
but you sure as hell want them to protect you
you sure as doudle hell want them to give there life for your when it comes down to it
trauned or not hes more heroic than the guy or girl that dosent do the right thing
epic win
are fire men and women not heros ? they are trained what a bout docs ? what a bout animal cop they are all trained
think on it
The funny thing about soldiers is they even protect assholes like you – although you don’t deserve it.
God bless them and thanks for the inspirational picture this morning.
Bad taste – you haz it
There are scant few internet based debates I involve myself with. Never have I posted on this board, so to the regular contributors I ask that you please forgive my intrusion. The anonymity of internet forums serves to enhance inherent behaviours (whether constructive or counterproductive) that would otherwise be repressed had we not the opportunity to comment without fear of retribution. Caveat aside, here is my point (FINALLY!) in the plainest english I am able to muster: Armed service members are no different from civilians. They are civilians. They are our community. They just wear a uniform, and have a job to do which can only be performed with extensive training. Like many of us who chose a career, or even those of us who chose something productive to do “for right now” over being a blight or burden on society; the armed services was their choice instead of say, corporate law or McDonald’s. There is a skill set learned, and they get paid to execute it. Theirs just happens to be continuous on the job training. The subject of photograph (someone who is being comforted by a furry “doctor” – one who happens to look great in red btw
– that just happens to be a service member) should not be misconstrued. Universally, we need comfort and care. Four-legged friends are very effective at providing this without judgment, and without prejudice. This man was hurt badly doing nothing more than his job, and should not be condemned for his choices, as those choices do not in any way detriment society in the least. The policymakers – direct your disdain towards them. Service members follow the orders given to them by the ones who ultimately wage the wars (not the ones who are fighting it) as it is their job to do so. I do not support war, nor will I. But my condemnation is reserved for the suits, not the uniforms. To the gentleman in the photograph, I pray your recovery (physically, mentally and spiritually) is swift and whole. Oh, btw – I’m jealous. I wanna pet the goggie!
I thank you very much for that. I have tried to convey that to too many people. I don’t fight for fun. I don’t do what I do for the hell of it. I just do what I feel my country wants/needs me to do, and I am proud to serve, just and my uncle and grandpa did.
Uncle-4 silver stars earned during World War 2.
Grandpa-Lost 2 friends and the use of the left half of his body for 6 years during a carrier accident, involving an undeployed bomb.
So you can think them for their dedication, I haven’t done anything yet.
lovely, couldnt have put it better myself.
What a jerk-off. Who says bollocks anyway? But since we’re tossing the word around, it’s bollocks for you to say that soldiers are trained and paid to kill human beings. How ignorant are you? Look it up, for gods’ sakes. Soldiers protect and serve. Soldiers are paid to follow the orders of the President and the Sergeant Major of the Army (or whatever branch). Their commanders send them forth to do what they’re told, whether that is to build a new base or bomb a terrorist hideout. The only people paid to kill are mercenaries and assassins, of which soldiers are neither.
whispers…thank you….need kleenex and my dog now..
need to know story behind picture!
someone halp!
OMG – I’m leaking…. I bet dis goggie would wipe away the leaky stuff wif his cuddlez…
well…he would….but then you would get more leaky stuff
Soldiers may kill people due to their training, but they do it to defend your freedom to say comments like that.
They don’t do it because they want to, they do it because it is what they are doing their job to defend millions and keep us free and able to ridicule them if that is our prerogative.
I won’t attack you for your opinion, however spend a moment to think of what soldiers do every day for you. You get to make those comments, you get to speak your mind, have food, shelter, water, technology, and freedom to do pretty much anything you please. They do their job for you. And trust me, their pay isn’t that great.
Soldiers, rescue doggehs, police, fire, ems, and all other heroes ftw!
Amen
Amen

I won’t attack you for your opinion, it is a freedom given to you by soldiers just like the one in the pic. However spend a moment to think of what soldiers do every day for you. You get to make those comments, you get to speak your mind, have food, shelter, water, technology, and freedom to do pretty much anything you please. They do their job for you. I think I can speak for my fellow servicemembers when I say – I love all of you!
“There goes my Hero, watch him as he goes….”
Love the Foos ref -WIN!! oh and the pic moved me to the point of havin to leave my desk so my clients wouldnt see me fill up *sniffs*
Chewy – nice name:-) That’s what I call my son…the Marine.
I don’t think there is anything on earth more healing than a good snorggle!
To all those who think that Service men & women are nothing but killing machines, go look at your neighbors, your cousins and aunts and uncles. Look at your fathers & mothers. Many of them were in Vietnam, so you were possibly raised by a killing machine. Whether or not you agree with a war or not does not make it right to dehumanize those people who serve. While I may not agree with your bumper sticker sir, I will defend to the death your right to stick it.
For all those who have served & now serve, I thank you.
Thank you, soldiers, for protecting our country.
Thank you service animal trainers that make the country more cuddly.
Amen.
The pic made my heart jump into my throat, but the comments from all of you excpet one is what brought tears to this old Marine’s eyes. God bless all of you.
for once im glad to amke a marine cry
i offer my thanks to you and every other person in the milatery.
i may be english but every one who take up arms for those that cannot to me is a hearo
just like a parent you dont always enjoy your nob but you do it any way
SIR I THANK YOU
job I MENT JOB
i know u was beening seriouse but i love spelling stuff ups (especily rude
sounding ones *chuckle*)
im glad i could give you a small chuckle while most of us are trying not to short our keybords with tears
(lisdexia rule ko ….. and as winne the pooh said my writting is good the letters get in the wrong place and it wobbles but its good writting)
I seriously teared up. Win indeed.
That’s beautiful.
As an English vet from the Faulklands and Golf 1 it wasn’t just the picture that made me cry, it was your wonderful kind and loving comments and appreciation of the armed forces that Americans have. It’s not something we’re good at in the UK, too reserved I guess, Thanks for, well, just being you.
God Bless You
And thank YOU.
My brother Served in Golf 1. A marine from the US. You brit’s have really stood the line over the years and served with distinction!
Thank you from a Yank!
Actually, that one was more like a TTME (Tears to My Eyes) moment — wow!
You guys know you are not defending me right? You are only defending the ones who piss each other off. If you never piss anyone off then you never have to kill anyone. Nice how that works out huh?
And no, I’d rather be killed then kill another. Murder is wrong but being murdered has no ethical connotations.
You’d rather die than kill, fine, but what if you had a gun and someone was holding a knife to the throat of the person you loved most in the world? Would you really let them die?
Now consider that soldiers do exactly this every day. They defend people they’ve never met, many of whom are like you, and they do it willingly. They protect your delicate sensibilities with courage and strength, fighting every day to keep the people that hate you simply for where you were born from killing you.
The fact that you are free to voice your opinions is living testament to the bravery of past and present soldiers, and the least you could do in return is respect them for their sacrifice on your behalf.
Y,now wat? Yu is an insensitive, ungrateful, and absolute worst scum-bag of an individual i have ever met, and i hope that the marines forgive you when your sorry, horrible behind needs saving. ‘Nuff said.
o, Btw this brought tears to my eyes. GOD BLESS AMERICA,ENGLAND, AND THE WORLD!!!!!
at m, btw
Again, I say…If you won’t stand behind our soldiers, Please feel free to stand INFRONT of them..
God bless our soldiers. Thank you for the job you do to keep us safe and free.
this is the best picture i have ever seen on this website.
i’m currently training my lab for her canine good citizen & her animal assisted therapy certificate and everyone’s like “why? what’s the point?”
but somewhere, there has got to be a soldier who needs a good snuggle with my lab. and my lab has a heart of gold, the size of this galaxy & i know she has lots of love to share to people who really need it.
this really made me realize why getting the CGC for my dog is such an important thing. hopefully, maybe years from now, a soldier will hug her & by then IHAH will have a whole collection of these truly amazing & inspiring pictures.
this is the kinds of images we need to be seeing. thank you to all the service men & women. there are plenty of dogs back home getting trained to snuggle, so don’t you worry about not feeling appreciated when you come home!!
I just came back from a 15 month deployment. I missed both of my puppies so much, but everytime the Chaplain came around with his “therapy” dog, I always got a huge smile on face, I would find a small piece of jerky and I was Rambo’s new best friend. There is no better therapy for anyone, Soldier included, than a non judgemental pet, who loves you regardless of “what you have to do.” To the people who can’t support the Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen, that’s OK… You can live your life with your blinders on, we are not the aggressors, we are the protectors, and I would ask that you not judge us until you have made the same sacrifices as we have, and know first hand what exactly we are fighting for. Your ignorance will not deter us from protecting our loved ones, OUR great country, the ones we have not yet met, and yes, even you.
God Bless you, John, and thank you for your service.
this picture just totally made me cry. I love it. I want to hug them both! I hope the soldier is better now and safe. Makes me so proud of our boys! I want to cuddle the dog too. There is nothing better than a dog when your feeling down and needing love. They are so ready to give it.
When I was in the hospital with one of my nervous breakdowns, we had a therapy dog a couple days a week, and I can’t tell how much it helped just having some”one” nonjudgmental like that to hug and hold onto Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go take care of my own blurred vision…

This picture made my heart well up as well, even though I’m more of a cat person. Thank you Soldier Newberry and Eddie, you make us proud!
Thank you so much for sharing the link!! This photo is now even more touching now that I know the story behind it. I’m the son of an Australian soldier and I couldn’t be more proud of the men and women of the Australian, American and British forces. You guys clean up the mess our politicians keep making. Thank you and keep up the good work guys!
I BAWWWWW’D.
No, seriously, I did. Need tissues now.
This picture reminded me of a story they told about my 86 year old father. He was a highly decorated pilot who served in the Marine Corp in the South Pacific during WWII. He adopted a stray dog at his base and used to sneak him on his plane went he would fly his missions. He used to volunteer to fly ammunition and explosives to different islands that the Marines were fighting to take back from the Japanese. Many times he was flying in under fire. His dog would sit with him and his co-pilot keeping them calm. They would pick up wounded soldiers–most of whom were horribly burned–and fly them back. His dog friend would wander up and down the plane comforting those who were in terrible pain. My father said that the Distinguished Flying Cross and clusters that he received also belonged to the dog. I never served in the military but my father is the bravest man I have ever known. I just wish I could have given his dog a big hug too!
As someone said earlier, do not blame the soldiers, blame the people who put them there. Because, more often than not, war is not about freedom or upholding an ideal, but about money, greed and power. And it is men like the one above who put themselves on the line to try and fix the mistakes that the suited idiots made with their hotheaded blundering. And the sad truth of it is, the ones who put them there will never know their suffering, and the physical and mental anguish that they go through, because they never go into the action themselves. The selfish bastards sit back and watch as noble men and women give their lives for someone else’s vendetta. If it wasn’t for our soldiers, we would suffer at the hands of fools. So do not blame the soldiers, they’re just looking out for you… somebody has to.
Yep. Blurry screen.
Amen brother. I have a family member in Iraq right now. I pray he’s o.k.
God bless all of our men and women in the military…and the dogs that help heal them….and the people that train them.
I have a blurry screen, too.
Thanks to all the servicemen/women who fight to protect us. No matter what negativity about your service that you come across in life, know that there are many more people who appreciate you and what you have sacrificed for us. God Bless you all.
the problem i have with conversations like this is that anybody who is not immediately reverent and kowtows to those serving our nation is combated with such sophisms as “they protect your right to say that, etc.” people allow emotions to cloud their reason and they start participating in a jingoistic ritual that is both frightening and unsettling to watch. that’s not the correct response in this case, nor is it ever really.
first off, i have friends in the armed forces and i have family who have served, so i’m not just some punk kid who doesn’t appreciate the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform. i have personal ties to these people. the guy who criticized the soldier was in the wrong because soldiers only kill when ordered. they have rules of engagement (america’s are much more cautious than many other countries), they have mission statements that guide their actions, and they have to follow the Uniform Code of Military Justice at all times. They swear an oath to uphold the constitution, and what that means is that they have to do what they are told to do by the Commander in Chief, whom we vote into office. subservience of the military to the highest-ranking civilian authority is paramount to preventing the military from ever coalescing as an isolated interest group and performing a political coup. that is the heart of the oath they swear to uphold. they don’t kill because they like to. but (and this is the important part) nor do they kill because it’s necessary to protect our freedom. not every armed conflict our soldiers have participated in is actually conducive to protecting our freedom, so you can’t go around shouting this tired rhetoric. but it is not a soldier’s fault if he is ordered to participate in an armed conflict which does not actually protect U.S. civilians. he cannot be held responsible for killing to protect himself and his fellow servicemen because it was not his choice to be used in that fashion. soldiers only ever kill because they are told to. but only -if- they are told to. you could drop 100,000 of america’s finest into any country in the world, and not a single gun would be fired if they were ordered not to. in short, you cannot blame a soldier for being forced to kill to protect himself and his servicemen, but the proper counter-argument is that he is an unwilling participant and cannot be blamed for any tragedies he is involved in. just screaming “but they protect our freedom!” is not good enough, nor is it always true. but in cases when it isn’t, it is not their fault that they were misused.
That your response to folks expecting basic respect to be offered to those who are willing to risk their lives for us as “kowtow”ing says about all we need to know.
Foxfier, I think you just did exactly what ccc was writing about. If I may attempt to summarise that post, ccc says that there is a difference between supporting the soldiers, and supporting what they are doing at any given time. It seems that few people attempt to make a distinction between the two.
I think all three of us would agree that supporting both the idea of a soldier (one who dies to protect our freedoms), and the reality of a soldier (a human being that may not live to see sunset), are good things. I think everyone is saying exactly the same thing, but no one is saying it clearly enough to be understood. Then, of course, there are posts like that by “baddogmonkeyboy” (the one that originally motivated me to monitor this thread) that are saying exactly the opposite, and I would guess that all three of us are on the other side of the argument from that poster.
We’re all agreeing, just in our different ways.
Some people say “thank you” even if they hate a gift.
Some people post multi-paragraph complaints that they’re told they’re rude for enumerating all the ways a gift sucks.
And most people, when looking at a man who bled for them and an adorable dog, will manage to find something nice to say– rather than complain that people have expectations of basic manners.
awww…this almost made me cry….srsly…
it`s just b-e-a-utiful!
Something no one mentioned to this point – This guy has at least a wife at home, if not a family (Note the left hand)!
*sniffle* God, I hate allergy season. *sniffle*
Awesome photo with the perfect caption.
If anyone is interested, it’s a real photo with a real story.

As a Navy wife, I thank all of our military members. For those injured, I wish a speedy recovery. For those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, we will never forget you.
Too (sniff) cute (snuffle) ok fine (waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah)
this picture makes me watery eyed every time i see it.
Though i don’t support the “war” or battle or whatever we wanna call it. I do support the troops busting their butts fighting for what they believe in. and hope they return home safe and sound.
And if they do get injured.. I hope there are friendly dogs such as this wonderful dog to be there by their side to help them every step of the way.
Whoever said to keep dogs out of hospitals? BAHHH.. ash that soldier or any one like him. God Bless him for the job he is doing!
I found your blog on google and read a few of your other posts. I just added you to my Google News Reader. Keep up the good work. Look forward to reading more from you in the future.
Epic Win.
My screen is blurry..it must be broken..Oh goodness.. now its leaking tears..
