   Oh, mygoodness! Someone has sneaked into my house and photographed my corgi sitting on my stairs! Although my Jillie’s blaze and collar are wider, the resemblance is uncanny. And no, Jillie doesn’t look cheerful either…. Maybe it’s a black-headed tri thing.

    To Meea: This is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi (the corgi without a tail). They are most famous for being the breed the Queen of England favors. This coloration is called black-headed tricolored, the least common coloration. They have huge personalities. If you don’t mind picking up your dog to put it into the car, this is a great breed to consider. First, they rock!, and secondly, they attract a lot of attention.

    This is Hamlet, my Pembroke.

    He is ale to jump into my car, but only because it’s low and small- just like Hammy!

    Bernese Mountain dogs are 65 to 120 lbs., and corgis are 20 – 30 lbs. Not to mention difference head shapes, body shapes, fur types, etc. But both are cute. Look up “black-headed tri” color corgis. This guy up there is a classic example.
