For those of you that don’t know about the water dogs, maybe it’s time to do a little research. Even the retrievers have thick, dense fur. It is a natural defense that helps them stay warm when swimming in cooler waters and cool when they are in warm water. The fur also is designed to keep the dogs from being weighted down with water.
