This is definitely a wedding with 2 women. If you notice the strap on the back of the “groom”s coat – it is to provide shape to a woman’s coat – gives the illusion of curves.

Ohhh…guilt…right. Here’s the thing, I live in a town FILLED with smug hippy wannabees who live off their daddy-set-up trust funds (trustafarians, we call them), and they parade around town bitchin’ about The Man (when their dad IS the man) and how the rest of us are unenlightened boobs since we don’t attend the same yoga class they do. This looks like 100 weddings (or “joinings” or whatever the hell it’s labeled this week) I’ve seen here. IN these cases, it’s a status symbol of hipness, not happiness, or thorough thought about marriage and its commitment. That’s why THIS picture is SO EASY to ridicule. Treating a dog like a person…and demanding that everyone else do so, too…another one of the smuggy attitudes we unruly average people are slapped with on a regular basis.

I picked my bridal bouquet from my grandmother’s garden. Perhaps not as fancy as something from a florist, but infinitely more meaningful. The whole affair was casual, but I guarantee that we cared very much about what was going on.

Wow. The officiant kinds looks like a gal I knew in grad school, and the setting looks a lot like the International Rose Test Garden in Portland, OR. If this is in fact an Oregon wedding, none of the above observations surprise me…white legs, casual dresses, flowers from the farmers’ market, wedding party members in Tevas, and dogs in the ceremony are par for the course around here…Cottleston Pie is right, what matters is the marriage, not necessarily how fancy the wedding is!

there is so much wrong here- where do we start ? well, i think the picture is flipped- when you face the alter the bride is on the left, as are her attendents- here they are on the rite- also- no one cared enuff to get their hair done ? where is her veil? where are her flowers? the flowers her attendents are holding- just grabbed out of the garden ? i certainly cant see any florist taking responsibility for those “bouquets” !
very sad- no buddy in this group cared very much about what was going on.

This is just wrong on so many levels, look at the thing around the “man’s” waist, no man would ever wear that, or shoes like that. Also, look at the “man’s” hand, that is not the hand of a man.

That’s why I think it looks kinda late ’60s or early ’70s, except for the bride’s gown. Clunky shoes…men did wear them, and some men who are self-conscious about their height (or lack of it) still do wear “lifters.” But the bridesmaids’ shoes and dresses…GACK! And NO stockings! *gasp!* Fish-belly white legs.

I have heard of evil brides who make their attendants dress frumpy on purpose…wonder how long the marriage has lasted.
